Plain-English terms for using Recon.

Last updated May 9, 2026

Agreement

By creating an account or using Recon you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these terms periodically; material changes will be announced by email or in-product notice.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for any activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. You can cancel any time from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit URLs you are not authorized to audit, or use Recon to attack or stress-test third-party sites.
  • Reverse engineer the service, scrape it programmatically, or attempt to bypass rate limits.
  • Resell, sublicense, or expose Recon's API or audit results in violation of your plan limits.
  • Use Recon to send spam or unsolicited messages to leads collected via the widget.

Your content

You retain ownership of the URLs, branding, leads, and configuration you provide. You grant us a limited license to process this content to provide the service.

Service availability

We work hard to keep Recon available, but the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. Audit results are informational; we do not guarantee that addressing them will produce specific business outcomes.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recon's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may close your account at any time; see our privacy policy for what happens to your data.
